rob moose biography

came to new york in 2000 to pursue a degree at the manhattan school of music. he has since established an eclectic presence, working in the classical, jazz and pop scenes.
as violinist, rob is affiliated with the orchestra of st. luke's and the princeton symphony. recently he served as concertmaster for a performance of saxophonist james carter's album, "gardenias for lady day," in the 2,500 seat verizon hall with members of the philadelphia orchestra. he plays a variety of instruments in a number of bands, including my brightest diamond (formerly awry), cliff korman's migrations ensemble and his chamber/folk project, silkweed.
rob's discography includes forthcoming releases by sufjan stevens and jazz guitarist, gene bertoncini. aside from music, he is an ma candidate at columbia university majoring in american studies.
